Boy Culture
I've finished another book. This book (thank you Michael) Boy Culture was written by Matthew Rettenmund. I'm not sure what the purpose of this book was. It's about a gay prostitute (with a heart of gold) who isn't a drug addict, is worried about STD's, has a fabulous apartment that he's redecorated twice, and has not friends. Aside from the completely unrealistic story, I had fun reading this 'fluffy' book. And this book is nothing but fluff. Let me repeat that, this book is nothing but fluff. It even has a few chapters that are basically soft porn.
I will say that Boy Culture does a good job portraying gay life in Chicago. Or just gay life in general, but really. What male prostitute takes in two roommates - just because. That's right...none. I would totally recommend this book if you were laying on a beach with a very short attention span. But if you're looking for literature. Keep looking. Fluffy.

I kinda hate modern gay books. They always seem to suck. (Better to read the classic ones, like MAURICE and the like). But, yes, I know it can be enjoyable/fluffy. I like Darwin Porter for that fluff stuff.
Sometimes we're all in the mood for a fun and trashy read!
