Bon Voyage! (Provincetown, MA)

I'm off kiddies! Tomorrow I must head back home to my parents as I've had a death in the family. I'll be attending services both Friday & Saturday. I'll then be taking my long anticipated in Provincetown, MA. Home of legal same-sex marriage. Mr. Adam & I will be 'turning out' that quaint, little New England town. I can't wait. So I may/may not be updating my blog. I don't know what the week will bring. But whatever it does bring, at least I won't be working or stuck in NYC. I've got NYC cabin fever. I know when I have it because I truly believe that people on the subway desperately are begging for a good, old fashioned beating. But I won't go there. Not now, I've got to be in a good frame of mind for this extravaganza of a trip. Wish me luck! Oh, and if you happen to be in p-town, gimme a holla! "Hey is that Ryan Charisma?" "He looks like a supermodel." "I heard he's just as beautiful inside too." "Ryan Charisma is the best - HEY RYAN WE LOVE YOU!" Aw, shucks guys. I'll be taking the 6:30pm fast boat to p-town on Saturday - sounds like a party to me! Trust me I'll need it after the funeral.

KNOCKED UP

Mr. Adam, Evan, Jeffrey, Scott, Steven & myself went to go see this movie last Saturday night. It was very, very funny. I really like this director's sense of humor. But, I find the whole "pregnancy" thing, well,....for lack of a better word - ALIENATING. I mean, I don't want the miracle of child birth to impede on my life in any way. I found the movie charming in an absolutely unrealistic way. I can't think of anyone who would carry a child to term as a result of a "one night stand." Seriously. I know there are Bible thumping idiots who don't believe in abortion, but let me just say "they're wrong and stupid." I mean really, in the words of Evie Harris "I've had more children pulled from me than a burning orphanage." And doesn't that sentiment sum it all up? So in conclusion, if you're straight, like dorm room jokes, and can suspend your disbelief that this career woman kept this one night stand bastard child; then you'll have a great time, but all I kept thinking in my head during the whole movie was..."abort, abort, abort.....bring me a knitting needle!"

1408

Last Saturday night I took Mr. Adam to see 1408. I'm a big fan of John Cusack and Stephen King. I'm beginning to think that Stephen King books just don't transfer to film well. I mean, I didn't hate this movie, but it wasn't outstanding either. It was just ... good. And in the spirit of summer blockbusters, this isn't one of them. This is just a simple scary movie. Scary yes, a few jumps but realistically, a room can't be haunted. There was no explanation of why the room could be haunted, none. The audience just had to suspend their disbelief for this movie to work. So I suspended. And I still feel as though, I should have read the book. So, my petite childrens, this movie will be a great rental during this upcoming winter. But DON'T spend your money on it in the theater. If you do, I'm gonna tell Momma on you!
